Hello everyone,

Well maybe not as prompt as I promised.... but we have been so busy.... doesnt leave me much time for blogging.....

Our Show Horse team are all performed for 2012 which is relieving.... however the girls are so keen to ride at shows they want to keep competing.... hmmmmm

All horses went sensational at Country Hack Champs in Dubbo - 3 Champions... very happy owners!!

Equitana once again was a fabulous event... First time in Sydney, held at the Sydney Olympic Park... We competed two horses GLENDON BRAE SHILOH and MELODY PARK HEAVENLY PEARL.... Both horses handled the atmosphere and produced flawless workouts. They both did us proud and very deservingly won Champion in their sections. I must say it was a weird feeling competing on the 'Sydney royal' arena and it wasnt Sydney royal... Very much looking forward to the new look of Sydney royal Showgrounds which is currently undergoing some major redevelopments....

Speaking of Royals... Canberra and Sydney Royals entries have closed....                           J & R EQUESTRIAN have 11 horses entered for Canberra Royal and 12 for Sydney royal.... undecided if im looking forward to that!! Busy much??

Our broodmares are blooming.... looking very much ready to pop.... waiting anxiously for whats inside them!!

We had a great day at Sydney Jump Club Comp on the weekend just gone. Havnt been to Jump Club since February .... ALTDAOR had her first ever outing (never left the property). She handled her self far better than expected. Very horse shy.... but once in the arena very focused.... I hope the fact she won her first ever class is a good indication for her future. The 4 horses we competed came home with 3 firsts and 2 seconds.... Happy horses, riders & owners.

ESH Champs this weekend.... First time we are competing at this show.... sounds like a fabulous day, seems very well planned and includes fabulous prizes!! lets hope any of the 7 horses can win some!!!

Then the Following weekend off to EA Nationals with SHILOH for a flying trip..... Back Saturday night to compete at the Sydney Showjumping Champs with 4 horses on Sunday.

2 more jumping shows after that..... Then that will draw a close to shows for 2011!!

I will be sure to post before the years end!!

 Until next time....:P

Well.... It has been a long while since I have written a blog.... ALOT has been happening during this time..... Plenty of big news happening @ J & R EQUESTRIAN..... The sad sale of Mitsy our beloved truck to make room for our new big Black MAN... An unfinished product at the moment..... finished enough to carry horses to shows, the aim is for it to be completed early 2012. We have been travelling here there and everywhere lately including Brisbane, Adelaide and Melbourne Royals, HOTY, other Grand national qualifiers not to mention a million and one Ag shows inbetween, chasing performances for our first season horses... Brisbane royal carried out with a few ups and downs.... firstly I broke my arm Jumping, Eva and I had a slight steering issue.... This happens often!!!! Then we were shocked when we were notified about the death of a close friend/long term Vet  - Andrew Thompson. On the up side Rhys and Gerry (RS CRESCENDO) began their World Cup jumping career, having a very impressive first start... Followed by an even better second in the Adelaide World Cup Qualifier. He did not start at Melbourne.... due to the surface and Gerry not settling with the atmosphere. Eva (JS VITINA) jumped fabulously at all three royals and has now gone B grade - eeeek =) .

Our jumping horses were turned out when we got back from Melbourne royal and will only do 2 shows in december, due to so  many hack shows.

All of our clients show horses have been performing tremendously.... with some very pleasing results. Congratulations to all our clients on their and their horses results of late and a big thanks for supporting and trusting/believing in us!!!

We still have plenty of big shows plus 5 Ag shows coming up before the years end. we head to Dubbo in 2 weeks with 7 horses for the Country Hack Championships, Shiloh (GLENDON BRAE SHILOH) has been accepted to competed at  the prestigous EQUITANA Show horse Championships,  after that we have 7 horses also competing at the ESH Championships... of which J & R EQUESTRIAN is delighted to be Platinum sponsors, then Our last Major hack show for 2011 will be the EA Australian Nationals in Werribee...  Where Shiloh has been invited to compete. We will tie our trip to Werribee in with another Jumping show in Tonimbuk the same weekend, we will take 4 jumpers.... Then our last show for the year will be The Sydney Showjumping Champs at SIEC.

We are also proud to announce the recent sales of JR DIRTY DEEDS, BAMBOROUGH BY DESIGN, DEMOCRACY And ASHMEAD FAIRYTALE. We wish their new owners the best of luck with these fabulous horses!!!!

I promise I will be more prompt with my blogs (=

Well we never made it to Nowra on Friday for the jumping.....

We took a few horses to Pitcher Partners on Saturday and Sunday.... All consistently being up there with Equal 2nd and lots of 3rds, however Shiloh managed to crack a broad sash, claiming Runner Up Large Galloway.

The next week was spent preparing to be away for a week and a half for Gundagai and Canberra Royal.... We had 7 horses going, 5 pretty ones and 2 that jump poles.

We had some great results from Gundagai..... The Jumping ones were great, JR DIRTY DEEDS got 2nd in the D Grade and RS CRESCENDO was 2nd in the A & B Grade on Friday. On Saturday RUSSEL jumped clear, but had one rail in the jump off. GERRY started in the Grand Prix. There was a huge Black cloud looming over the mountain, and I said to RHys as he was cantering into the ring, I think you will have 1 minute until this rain hits.... As Rhys was jumping the first fence it started to pour down with rain, however GERRY was in great form and jumped a super clear round.... 2 horses after Rhys went it started to thunder and lightening was occuring so they suspended competition for a good hour.... after a Massive down pour they continued the class. GERRY didnt like the going so much and had a rail in the jump off, they ended up 4th. The pretty ones were also great...  GLENDON BRAE SUMMER was Champion Galloway with GLENDON BRAE SHILOH Reserve (shiloh really was unhappy that his older sister beat him)..... but i didnt pursue the reinback on Shiloh, that was required in the Championship class... YARRAMINE SUPREME was Champion Hack... The ponies were on a separate day to the Galloway and Hack classes so therefore in Supreme it was just SUMMER and SUSIE.... They both worked well, Rhys was aboard SUSIE for the Supreme.... But SUMMER Stepped up to Take Supreme horse of the show.

The Next day the Riverina Showjumping Championships was being held in conjunction with Gundagai Show... I got a bit board with having no jumping horses there so decided I would go jumping with SUMMER.... this being the first time she has ever jumped.... SUMMER jumped in the 50cm and 75cm... only having 1 rail.... Versatile??  RUSSEL and GERRY were both a little off today, not coping so well with the mud... they still jumped ok, just had a couple of rails where they had got a little stuck in the mud.

So off to Canberra we go...

of the 5 show horses we had the oldest is a 5yr... This was there first royal for all of them 3yr, two 4yrs and two 5yrs.... So Canberra for them to us was just an experience.... to see what they are going to be like and how they will cope with the atmosphere.... such as Harness, Shires, Fancy Dress, Side Shows etc.... They all were amazing.

GLENDON BRAE SUMMER had a great start to the show... First class out and She wins her Novice Galloway... WOW... she then went on to be 2nd in her Open to KOLBEACH CIRCUS who was awarded Champion Galloway. JAMIE PRIESTLEY rode SUMMER in the Childs Galloway, she did a marvolous job to get a well deserved 2nd.

GLENDON BRAE SHILOH.... really was a stand out.... he is the new kid on the block and was definately punching outside of his weight. SHILOH was 2nd in the Novice Galloway.... 2 days later he worked better to win the Open Galloway, therefore we didnt start him in the Ladies. Straight into The Championship and we were already so thrilled with the effort of this horse. The atmosphere on Champion Saturday really was something different to what they were used to. SHILOH handled it like a pro. He did a great workout.... just a little green though (4yr).... SHILOH was named Reserve Champion Galloway.... OMG what a star....

WINTER was there for the Led TB.... a 3yr just off the track.... Coped pretty well out on the main arena... a little nervous, but she did hold it together pretty well, despite Biting me on the arm in the ring.... OUCH!!! WINTER won her led Filly under 4 and went on to be Champion Led TB Mare.... We were so happy with WINTERS results...

QUEEN GWINHWYFAR OF CAERLEON was just in the Novice Hunter pony... and as it was it clashed with the Champion Galloway, so as I wanted to concentrate on SUMMER and SHILOH I got CHERIE SPINKS to ride GWIN for me. Giwns first time out on the arena and she also handled it so well. she was 4th in the Novice. On the last day Gwin was in the Saddle Pony ridden, which she won.... GO GWIN!!!  Her greened showed a little in the Championships as she got a little unsettled by the atmosphere, but we were still so happy with this mare.

I rode a lovely pony for EMMA RCHARDSON and KELLIE WITHERS, ROYALWOOD SONG OF SPRING. This pony really is gorgeous. She won her Open and went on to be Champion Large Pony.... :)

I also rode KINGSWOOD ROVER  for the Chenery family to Win the Working Hunter Galloway...

Rhys rode YOURS TRULY for Karrine New and DEMOCRACY for the Parker Family  for some minor placings in the hack classes.

GERRY and RUSSEL also performed quite well. RUSSEL looked great out in the jumping ring... Lyn is not convinced he should be a straight showjumper.... Wishing he was a show Hunter as well!! RUS jumped a couple of 4 fault rounds, Rhys just trying out different ways to ride RUS - not sure Canberra royal was the best place to try something different??? But we were still very happy with him. RUSSEL also provided some evening entertainment.... Rhys rode him in the Bareback High jump, unfortunately he had to settle for 2nd place, yet he still managed to jump 1.75m BAREBACK, good boy RUS.  GERRY didnt cope so well with the atmosphere at Canberra.... in saying that he was the same last year... very hard to keep his focus and get him to settle. We decided not start him on the last day in the GP. Tomorrow is another day and there are plenty of more shows for him.

Definately glad to be back at home, we are all very happy with the results from the past week and a half... A big thanks to everyone for all there help... Mum and Dad, Rhys, Michael our travelling groom, everyone back at home... to our fabulous Sponsors.... Show stoppers - Thanks Donna for our fabulous winning Jackets, Equissage -  making our horses feel and go so much better, Wymeanda Browbands.... Giving our horses such pretty browbands that compliment there look,  Prydes Feeds -  for keeping our horses happily eating and looking great, Kentucky Equine Research - Giving our horses the correct supliments to keep our horses running smoothly on the inside, Steph and Terry from ThinLine/Back On Track - making sure our horses are structually sound, Don Comans - our Chiropracter to the stars.... and also thanks to Kel Pristley for keeping our horses feet in perfect form ( no hoof no horse)!!!

I always go by the saying "A rooster one week and a feather duster the next" Lets hope our horses can continue there winning form, our aim is to be consistenly up there...

Until next time.....

7th of February

I thought it was about time I introduced a news page to our website to keep everyone up to date with all that has been happening! :)

The year  is going so fast as our favourte run of shows for the year are nearing to be over.  we are already into the 6th week of the year and have already  done 8 shows.

Our horses are all in great form and are going really well.

The last show we competed at Was Berry Ag Show. Last year most events at Berry were cancelled due to large amounts of rain and this year we had to compete in Extreme heat.

Keen or just stupid?? We took 7 horses to Berry in the 45 degree heat, but it was worth it.

5 show horses and 2 showjumpers.

All were in great form Russel (JR DIRTY DEEDS) was 2nd in the hotly contested D grade and Gerry ( RS CRESCENDO was 3rd in the A & B Grand Prix.

Shiloh (GLENDON BRAE SHILOH) got Supreme Hack of the show. This horse is improving more and more every show.... hopefully soon he will be over his show ring antics and be brave enough to cope out on his own in workouts.

Susie (YARRAMINE SUPREME)  got Reserve Champion Hack - she did not handle the heat so well, getting very upset by all the flies and being covered in sweat!!

Summer ( GLENDON BRAE SUMMER) was ridden by young Jamie Priestley to claim Reserve Champion Rider and also won Childs Gallloway. Jamie did a super job considering she had never ridden Summer before and literally got to know her, going around the ring.

Dolly ( RAMANA PARK CARTINA) was Champion Led and Ridden Warmblood.

In between classes we went to the beach a few times to try and cool off and on Saturday afternoon we took some of the horses to the beach also, which was great fun!!

We have Nowra Show coming up next Friday with Gerry and Russel then Pitcher Partners Grand National Qualifier on Saturday and Sunday with the show horses...

Will try and post updates as often as I can .
